1.0 Deposits are 50% of materials total leaving 50% of materials as a balance along with all labour charges. Total percentage deposit will work out to around 28% of total quotation value. Some quotations vary.
1.1 All balance payments must be paid in full on the day of completion of works by either cash, cheque or bank transfer.
1.2 Fitting appointments are usually in one hour time slots, however we are more than happy to call you approximately 30 minutes before arrival if this is helpful to you.
1.3 We are more than happy to move 1 or 2 large items of furniture free of charge. We politely ask that all contents are removed from inside furniture prior to the installation team’s arrival. Failure to do this may result in further charges to allow for time incurred. If you have Grandfather Clocks or Piano’s you may need to retune / reset them after installation.
1.4 Electrical wires are the responsibility of the client to re-insert after installation. We cannot be held responsible for damage to hidden or already damaged wires. Sky box re tuning is the responsibility of the client although we will assist where possible.
1.5 Door trimming if required once your new floor has been installed is priced at £10 plus vat per door. Seperate visits to trim doors are charged at £20.00 plus vat per door.
1.6 Clients should be aware that floors may need to settle and mould to the personality of sub floors beneath. Whilst it is unlikely, any issue’s other than stated above should be brought to our attention immediately. We will not be held responsible for any third party intervention.
1.7 Unfortunately we cannot be held responsible for clients own measurements under any circumstances unless agreed by M J Harris Flooring.
1.8 We require at least five days notice to any amendments to the agreed installation date, Whilst we are reluctant to apply any further charges to our clients we reserve the right, at our discretion to apply a cancellation day rate of £200.00 for any amendment made after this time.
1.9 M J Harris Flooring cannot be held responsible for any issues where we are not directly responsible, this includes, but not limited to late delivery from our suppliers or adverse weather conditions.
2.0 Once orders have been placed and installations booked all deposits are Non – Refundable.
2.1 By paying the deposit you accept all items on your quotation & all accompanying terms and conditions.
2.2 M J Harris Flooring cannot be held responsible for un-level sub floors and will advise on levelling if required. In the unlikely event that this is required this will be priced on site but please be aware it could delay installation times.
2.3 When installing Hardwood floors, if you have chosen us to carry out you skirting works, skirting’s will need to be caulked and glossed by the client/decorator unless agreed by M J Harris Flooring.
2.4 Please make sure you find time to read through the furniture and floor preparation email that may be sent to you a few days before installation.
2.5 All materials sourced by the client are the client’s responsibility. Whilst it is unlikely, all materials should be in good fitting order and if this is not the case we may have to refuse to fit them and a cancellation charge of £200.00 per day incurred.
2.6 Natural woods like solid oak and walnut under manufacturer instructions can experience a 1% - 3% tolerance in board widths thus resulting in minor gaps between planks.
2.7 Uplift and disposal charges include taking away any packaging or rubbish created from the new flooring however if Uplift and disposal of old flooring has not been charged for or required then rubbish created from new flooring including packaging will be left for the client to dispose off, this includes cardboard tubes that come with carpets and vinyls. We can carry out this service for you at a cost starting from £25.00 depending on size and weight. This is to cover the cost we incur from the council. Any rubbish left will be in a small, neat and tidy pile and broken down to fit in most cars.
2.8 Any faults or issues with materials found after installation will be dealt with using the necessary means. Balancing payments cannot be held back from M J Harris Flooring for issues with materials on installation day or thereafter. Faulty materials will be inspected and replaced if required.
2.9 Natural woods can experience variation in colours and grain.
3.0 Pole marks can be found in carpets after installation but will hover and walk out after time.
3.1 We happily can remove and reinstall toilets, radiators, and all kitchen white goods if required, however if additional plumbing work is required due to changes in floor level in order to reinstall then it is the responsibility of the client to cover these costs.
